Taylor Woodrow celebrates opening of Gallery at Dos Vientos

Saturday November 2, 2002

Bringing its tradition of architectural innovation and superior quality to Thousand Oaks for the first time, Taylor Woodrow Homes is celebrating the model grand opening of Gallery at Dos Vientos Ranch in Thousand Oaks, a stunning collection of stylish family homes.

Highlighting the celebration is the debut of finely decorated model homes that showcase Gallery's spacious one- and two-story residences, which span approximately 2,780 to 3,395 square feet, including four- to five bedrooms and two and one-half to three baths.

Priced from the high $500,000s, each Gallery residence has been carefully plotted providing large back yards perfect for a pool and outdoor entertaining.

"The caliber of these homes and their inspired designs, combined with Taylor Woodrow's reputation for excellence, has created tremendous advance interest among homebuyers," says Barbara Stowers, Taylor Woodrow's vice president, sales and marketing. "Now that buyers can get a firsthand look at the unique floorplans and high-quality features, that interest is certain to translate into strong sales momentum."

As they tour the models, home shoppers will discover three distinctive floorplans that appeal to a variety of family lifestyles.

For those who desire the convenience of a one-story home, Gallery's impressive single-story floorplan features an intimate entry courtyard with Portico and an expansive great room.

Added spaciousness distinguishes both of Gallery's two-story plans, which offer formal living and dining rooms for gracious entertaining and fireplace-warmed family rooms for spirited family gatherings.

Adding to the homes' appeal are many design innovations, such as a uniquely versatile "mom's room" just off the kitchen perfect for playing games with the kids, wrapping gifts and more in Residence Three and an optional bonus room, loft or home office in each plan.

Among the highlights of the model tour will be the homes' gourmet kitchens, which have been designed for comfort, function and appeal by a team of professional culinary consultants. Ceramic- tile countertops and handsome country pine birch cabinetry combine to lend a stylish look to the kitchens, while mealtime convenience is heightened by walk-in storage pantries, under-cabinet lighting, two compartment porcelain sinks and pull-out faucets, and a complete collection of built-in GE appliances, including 36-inch cooktop, wall oven, convection microwave oven and multicycle dishwasher.

Home shoppers also will be impressed by master suites that maximize personal comfort with large walk-in closets and elegant compartmentalized baths featuring inviting oval tubs, separate showers and dual-sink vanities with ceramic-tile countertops.

The fine detailing that is evident throughout the homes will be typified by such refinements as rounded drywall corners, baseboards, door casings and six-panel colonist interior doors, while practical enhancements will include central heating and air-conditioning systems, interior laundry rooms with utility sinks, and three-car garages in tandem or split configurations.

Enabling families to stay on the cutting edge of technology, every home will be powered for interactive living with a state-of-the-art high-speed communications network that utilizes Category-5 wiring and coaxial cable for transmitting data, audio and video. The structured wiring forms the platform for numerous modern conveniences, providing residents with home office solutions, including data, phone and cable ports, all conveniently located at the same outlet.

Everyone's first impression of the models will be made memorable by a mix of Santa Barbara, Spanish Colonial and European Farmhouse styling that reflects the talents of the award-winning firm of Robert Hidey Architects who also designed Taylor Woodrow's successful master-planned community, Woodlands in Valencia.

Enhanced by a peaceful, country-style setting where open space abounds and scenic rolling hills stretch across the horizon, the 2,300-acre master-planned community of Dos Vientos Ranch enhances residents' lifestyles with ball fields, parks, trails and a convenient location that is close to a wide range of shopping, dining and entertainment.

Heightening the community's appeal to families are some of the nation's top schools and Thousand Oaks' distinction as one of the safest cities of its size in the country.
